Writing Pencils

We should never forget what we owe to the graphite pencil.  It has served us through many years of learning and through many years of art homework, so never forget when you’re splashing out on all of those colourful, wonderful pencils just where it all began.

Graphite pencils might seem a little dated but there’s still not contest when comes down to whipping up a quick sketch or working on a fine detailed drawing, not to mention the range of hardnesses available.

There’s an excellent selection of graphite pencil brands available including Staedtler, Derwent and Conté with individual pencils and pencil sets for not very much monies at all.  Graphite pencils are an absolute essential in any artists’ studio, so don’t forget your roots; get a lovely set of pencils!
