With a good choice of scraper blades in hand, you will have the best choice of mark making possibilities.  Think of it as like having a quality set of kitchen knives.  You’ll have a bit of a hard time trying to peel a potato with a meat cleaver rather than a peeling knife, and the same applies to using scraper blades for the wrong job.
