Masking Tape

Quite possible the tape of choice for any artist, masking tape can pretty much do anything an artist wants it to, even if it was never made for that application.

It’s great for simply sticking this down or to a wall if you like to work the old fashioned way, but if you’re a little bit more advanced and want to put its name into practice, it can be used when painting or spraying or drawing or whatever it is you’re doing (and whatever it is, we know it’s going to look fabulous!) to masking areas of your picture and then be removed to leave a sharp line of the underlying layer where the masking tape was.

There are plenty of roll widths to keep you going, and brands such as Scotch and Ultratape, so there’s more choice than you ever might expect from just a kind of tape!
