Gum Tape

Information

Another tape that is loved by artists around the globe, gum tape is quite possibly the messiest tape experience you could have, but is loads of fun and actually does its job at the same time.

Watercolour painters love gum tape for stretching paper, as it goes on wet and will dry through as the paper dries, holding the paper in place and ensuring your paper is super tight.

Gum tape is always popular during degree show, as it becomes the saviour of many an art student, allowing them to patch up bits of walls or tape up the joins between wall boards and paint over them to make them absolutely seamless.

It can easily be torn to size as its really just some paper with a gum backing, then dipped in or brushed with water, then stuck to whatever you’re working on.  Leave to dry and you’re done!
