Artstore is pleased to announce the members of the jury for our first juried exhibition. We would like to thank them for taking on such a difficult role of selecting from a pool of excellent work created at The Glasgow School of Art. The jury is comprised of the following people:
John Nicol was born 1980 in Aberdeen.
He graduated from Grays School of Art in 2001 and finished the MFA at
Glasgow School of Art in 2011. He has recently completed an eight month residency at the Muse 269 Gallery in London and is about to begin a two year committee member post at Transmission Gallery in Glasgow.
Üster has an undergraduate degree in Painting and Drawing from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, an her MA in Visual Arts from Sabanci University, Istanbul and an MFA from The Glasgow School of Art. She is represented by Artist Pension Trust and in 2011, she was selected to represent Turkey for the Henkel Art Award, and nominated and shortlisted for the Sovereign European Art Prize. In April 2012, she completed a three-month residency supported by Art Dubai, Delfina Foundation, Dubai Culture and Heritage, and Tashkeel. She has recently shown her work at Encounters: Turkish Contemporary Art in Korea, at Ara Gallery, Seoul, Korea.
Ralph Mackenzie was born in Buckie in 1986 and currently lives and works in Glasgow.
Ralph graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2009 and is the co-founder and co-director of David Dale Gallery & Studios in Glasgow, and organisation committed to providing opportunities and supporting the development of early career contemporary visual artists, curators and writers. He has exhibited nationally as a visual artist and in 2011 was chosen to exhibit at Plat(t)form 11, Fotomuseum Winterthur, Switzerland.
